Offering: Knit, Woven, or Felted Items for Shepherd’s display, personal use, gifts, etc

Josie Cooke is the creator behind Boketto, offering to transform your sheep, goat, camelid, rabbit, or other critter’s fiber into knit, woven, or felt items. Perhaps you’d like to display your fiber as a finished object at a booth during festivals and fairs. Perhaps you’d like a knitted cozy cowl, squishy sock, toasty mitten, or wrap around shawl to enjoy yourself, or give as a gift. Versatile felt uses very little wool and makes wonderful trivets and potholders. Woven ideas include scarves, rectangular shawls, table runners, or sample squares. Consider me your maker at the ready to create functional or artistic, items.

Prices are project-dependent and negotiable. In-kind payments welcome (trade of finished object for additional material such as finished yarn).

Having knit for over 20 years now, I feel comfortable with most patterns including cables, bobbles, brioche, colorwork, shaping, etc. Weaving is an intermediate skills, I am capable of plain weave, twill, and some more complex patterns. Felting experience has included some vegan sheepskin projects, studying with international instructors at North House Folk School, and doing collaborative murals.

Josie is a full time craftsperson, who serves on the Board of the Duluth Fiber Guild as well as the Three Rivers Fibershed. She was a Craft Education Intern in 2019 for North House Folk School. Her work has been on exhibit in Manistee, MI and Duluth, MN. She enjoys teaching and demonstrating craft around the state at living history museums, folk schools, and re-enactment events.
