Farm & Fiber Tour: Stop #2

  • Curlee Acres 1610 S Loveless Lake Ln Centuria, WI United States (map)

Farm & Fiber Tour: Curlee Acres

Curlee Acres is a small sheep farm in western WI, a few miles from Centuria raising Shetland sheep. The wool is great for knitting, felting, and weaving. The coarse sections are used for rugs and even the unusable wool finds a home in the garden as mulch. The farm uses rotational grazing practices, which have helped the new pasture transform from a stagnated, conventional crop field into thriving grasses.

Join us for a morning at Curlee Acres learning about their work stewarding sheep to create local fiber!

ABOUT THE FARM & FIBER TOUR
The Farm & Fiber Tour is a collaboration between Three Rivers Fibershed (TRF) and Wisconsin Farmers Union (WFU) local chapters highlighting local fiber farms, soil-to-soil farming practices, and regional textile systems in Wisconsin! Featuring WFU and TRF members/stewards, the on-farm events will connect community members with local farms and shepherds engaging in climate-beneficial, pasture-based farming practices and learn about both organizations and their work to support farmers and cooperative efforts to promote local agricultural systems.

Events will feature farmer-led pasture walks, hands-on fiber activities, and educational booths hosted by partner organizations.
